Terms of Use

The agreement covering your use of Bentry.

Version 1 · last updated 22 September 2026

1. Who this agreement is between

These terms are between you and Preppers Infotech (OPC) Private Limited, Office F-06, 5th Floor, Sangam Sapphire, near Hetarth Party Plot, Science City Road, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380060, India ("Bentry", "we", "us").

They cover your use of the Bentry apps and website. By creating an account or using Bentry, you accept them.

**Your organisation has its own separate agreement with us**, and that agreement — not this one — governs what your organisation may do with the attendance data it collects about you.

2. What Bentry does

Bentry records attendance for organisations. Depending on how your organisation has set it up, you may mark attendance by face recognition on your own phone, by scanning a code, or at a shared tablet on site.

3. Your account

- You need an account, and you must give an email address you control. - **Keep your password to yourself.** Anything done with your account is treated as done by you. - Give accurate information. Someone else's attendance record is not a thing to be casually wrong about. - One account per person. Do not share it, and do not mark attendance for anyone else. - You must be at least **18** to hold an account. Bentry is not for children, and organisations must not enrol anyone under 18 — see the [Privacy Policy](/privacy) §11.

4. Face recognition is optional and consented

If your organisation uses face recognition, you will be asked to consent before your face is enrolled. **You may refuse, and you may withdraw consent later** — your organisation can record your attendance another way.

Do not enrol anyone else's face. Do not attempt to defeat the recognition check, including with a photograph, a video or a mask.

How face data is handled is set out in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy).

5. Attendance records belong to your organisation

Attendance records are your organisation's records. They are **append-only**: once a mark exists it is not deleted, including if you delete your account.

If you believe a record is wrong, raise it with your organisation. They can correct their own records; we do not alter them on a member's request.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

- mark attendance for somebody else, or let anyone mark for you; - falsify your location or your network to defeat an attendance check; - try to reach another organisation's or another person's data; - probe, overload, reverse-engineer or interfere with the service; - use Bentry for anything unlawful.

We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is doing any of these.

7. Availability

We work to keep Bentry available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or withdraw features, and will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

Bentry needs a working internet connection for most actions. Some marks may be queued on your device and sent when a connection returns.

8. Your content

Where you or your organisation upload content — a profile photo, a document — you keep ownership of it. You grant us the permission needed to store and display it for the purpose of running the service, and nothing more.

9. Liability

**9.1** Bentry is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, conditions and terms that are not expressly set out in these terms, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

**9.2** We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, business or anticipated savings, however arising.

**9.3** Our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms, in aggregate over any twelve-month period, is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in that period, and (b) ₹10,000.

**9.4** **Attendance records are your organisation's records.** We are not liable for how your organisation uses them, for decisions it takes on the basis of them, or for a record it declines to correct. Disputes about your attendance are between you and your organisation.

**9.5** Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under Indian law.

9A. Indemnity

If you break §6 (Acceptable use) and that causes us loss — including a claim brought by a third party — you agree to reimburse us for the reasonable costs we incur, including legal costs. We will tell you promptly about any claim, let you take part in the defence, and not settle it without asking you first.

10. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time — in the app at **Settings → Delete account**, or at [bentry.app/delete-account](https://bentry.app/delete-account). What that removes and what it keeps is set out in the [Privacy Policy](/privacy) §9.

Your organisation can remove you from the organisation. That does not delete your Bentry account; your account is yours.

We may suspend or end your access for a serious or repeated breach of §6.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always published here and in the app with a version number and date. If a change materially affects your rights we will bring it to your attention rather than rely on you noticing.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

**Before going to court, talk to us.** Write to the address in §13 setting out the problem and what you want. We will reply within 30 days, and most things end there.

If that does not resolve it, the courts at **Ahmedabad**, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
