Delete your account
You can delete your Bentry account yourself, from inside the app. This page explains exactly what that removes, what it does not, and what to do if you can no longer open the app.
In the app
Open Bentry and go to Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm with your password — or, if you signed in with Google or Apple, by typing your account ID. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, profile photo and password
- Your face data — the template used to recognise you
- Every device you are signed in on, immediately
- Your membership of every organisation you belong to
- Notification tokens for your devices
What is kept, and why
Attendance records are kept. Organisations are required to hold records of when their people were present, so those entries cannot be removed on request — by us or by them.
Once your account is deleted, those records no longer carry your name, your email address, your photo or your face data. What remains is an entry against an account that identifies nobody.
We say this before you delete rather than after. If you are deleting your account in order to erase an attendance history, it will not do that.
If you cannot open the app
Write to admin.bentry@gmail.com from the email address on the account, and ask us to delete it. We will confirm the request before acting on it, and tell you when it is done.
The same address handles requests for a copy of your data.
